Afterboltxebike – Demo 2018

As noted below, 2018 may have been more of a Year Of Rectification And Regroupment, but that’s not to say we didn’t make some real advances .

While not a Rebel Time Records release, we were stoked to be able to present, ( with the band’s ok ) and as a free / pay-whatever-the-heck-you-want release, Afterboltxebike‘s 2018 demo … a fantastic antifascist and communist punk band from Nuevo León, México, with two members of Comunistas Unidos (United Communists).

Required listening for sure.

We first came across Afterboltxebike back in 2016 when the band released a couple of great tunes ( “Pavlichenko” and “De Que Lado Estas?” ). We got in touch with singer / guitarist Diego, did an interview with him, and the rest is history.

2018 And Beyond

2018 may have been more of a Year Of Rectification And Regroupment, but that’s not to say we didn’t make some real advances (including this new spiffy website, which is still a work in progress!)

First and foremost, we were able to work with a couple of bands that really represent what Rebel Time Records is all about.

We are very proud to have been able to work with The Fallout and Urban Vietcong  … both bands fall beautifully under the “rebel tunes for rebel times” banner … both bands play catchy-as-heck and unapologetically political agit-p(r)op-punk rock.

2019 promises more of the same, so stay tuned!

Spring Offensive 2019

Coming in March 2019! Spring Offensive 2019!

We’re working on a few shows in and around Southern Ontario that will feature some of the best socially-conscious, politically-engaged, anti-authoritarian and multi-lingual music we can find.

As of this date, we’ve got Kitchener (March 22nd) and Hamilton (March 24th) booked.

Stay tuned for more details!

Urban Vietcong – New Video – “Storie Tra Bottiglie E Ciminiere”

Here’s the brand new video for the title track from Urban Vietcong’s upcoming album “Storie Tra Bottiglie E Ciminiere.”

According to singer Bebe, the song is about “dismissed workers who decide to seize the boss” and, at the end of the video there is a quote that reads “the workers will return to winning when the bosses return to being afraid of them”

The album should be out at the end of the month. Vinyl is being taken care of by Out of Control, Fire and Flames music and Rumagna Sgroza. Rebel Time Records and Dure Realite are taking care of a cassette version of the album.

Urban Vietcong – “Storie Tra Bottiglie E Ciminiere” – Out Soon!!

Coming very soon!

Urban Vietcong, out of Livorno, Italy, have been highly recommended by Rebel Time Records for some time now. Their first album “A Colpi Di Machete” hasn’t really left our turntable since it’s release in 2016 ( we still have a few copies for sale ). Quite simply, amazing left-radical punk/oi/core. History Lessons EP – Free Download

Back in 2014 we released the “History Lessons” 7″ EP which featured two songs each from Action Sedition and Spanner.

Spanner is releasing a new album titled “Won’t Be Stopped” and we’re stoked / pleased as punch / happy as clams to be able to assist in a small way with the album’s release. It will be out this fall on Rebel Time Records and other like-minded labels.

In fact, we are so excited about this upcoming release that we are giving away the “History Lessons” EP for free. That’s right, you can download the EP from our bandcamp page for free / PWYC! Continue reading “History Lessons EP – Free Download”

“We Meant War Not Murder”: A Punk Rock History Of Klatsassin And The Tsilhquot’in War Of 1864

History and punk rock together in this article from Active History.ca !

Back in 2014, we released “Last Run” by The Rebel Spell. Little did we know that it would be, due to the passing of frontman Todd Serious, also the band’s last album.  Heartbreaking. But, what an album.

One reviewer noted: “One of the standout tracks on the album is “The Tsilquot’in War,” which is the album’s longest, clocking in at over 5 minutes. The lyrics take the form of a linear narrative, telling the story of a violent uprising in northern British Columbia by a group of indigenous warriors in the 1860s. The warriors opposed the building of a road through their traditional Continue reading ““We Meant War Not Murder”: A Punk Rock History Of Klatsassin And The Tsilhquot’in War Of 1864″
